Under the Weather & Note from An Angel~

It all started here, opening this little drawer
I think I hear something inside...

Have some kind of bug - definitely under the weather,
couldn't go see my friend, Cathleen (poor, poor me!)
So ~ what do I do? Started fiddling around with things...

Looking in all the old pieces I have reminiscing...
Yes, I'm one of those people~ I don't throw anything away.

So look what I found~
An old bag filled with half dollars and a few silver dollars as well~
On business trips to Las Vegas, my Dad would always bring back
some change for us~ my brother and my cousins
The bag would always be marked with each of our names and we
got the same amount. In finding this tiny whisp of paper
it brought back so many things about my Dad, how fair he always was,
not just in this, but in every day life. My little piece of paper
has seen better days and it's as soft as those very loved
best cotton jeans you've worn every Sunday for the last
few years~ I know it's ready to ravel away, but can't
stop touching it and looking at the letters.
My name's written on both sides, so I'm sure
it's mine ;)

Have you found anything while going through drawers,
nooks you had forgotten about that brought back a
voice from the past? It says I'm with you...

See you in a few days, when this bug has met it's match ;)

xoxo, Tracie

Aw Tracie, I'm so sorry you are not feeling well. Maybe the heat has gotten to you. I know extreme heat makes me sick. That piece of paper is so sweet. You should save it with some other of your treasures and put it in a memory shadow box. My daughter did that with her wedding memorabilia. Please feel better. Until then.....

Hi Tracie,
You must of caught the bug I had. I wasn't an easy one to get over.
Well I have found things that I have forgotten and was happy I found. The biggest finds were cleaning out my parents home all the goodies we found.
Me it's dishes or jewelry I forgot I bought. What a silly girl.
Maybe in July, we will both be in the pink and can go visit Cathleen.

Take vitamin C and have some chicken won ton soup.

A few years ago a good friend of ours died - not long after helping us move into our farmhouse. He was the first to arrive on moving day and offerred to go get the truck while we waited for the others. Silly guy paid for it too! Never would let us pay him back. About 4-5 months ago, my husband found a note from Kevin. He had come back on moving night - in the middle of the night- to run an extension cord to the truck and keep something plugged in (since he got the instructions from the UHaul, we had no idea why it had to be plugged in). It's a silly little note but reminds me of his generous heart. Treasure your notes!! Blessings... Polly

Hope you are feeling better soon. Not much fun when feeling blue.
Dads are very special. Enjoy your moment with him, even if it's just holding a memory.

You take care of yourself, indulge in whatever you want, and get well soon, sweets. (You have my permission, so tell everyone who disagrees to back off.) Yes, I've had the old tug at my heart upon finding something I'd long forgotten about. I swear there are strings that are attached to every woman's heart that get tugged when the passage of time blurs today and we end up finding it tomorrow.

Hey Tracie,
I thought I left a comment yesterday but for some reason it didn't post. I hope you are curled up with Zeke under the softest blanket with a cup of tea and one of your favorite old romances on the telly. Feel better.

I hope that you feel better soon dear. I was looking for something in one of my catch~all drawers just this morning, and found a tiny framed photo of my parents when they first met. So sweet....I decided that it needs to be on my dressing table. ~XO~ Janet

I'm sorry you are not feeling well. Thank you for sharing that wonderful memory of your father. I hope those memories are comforting to you.

Get well soon.

Oh sweetie you struck a chord with me there. That piece of paper was there waiting for you for when you were feeling down and needed comfort. I think its so amazing and it shows you that your dad is looking after you.
I found a letter from my grandad one day, when i was feeling really low and very un-talented....he was always my biggest fan and this letter told me i was remarkable and talented. See what i mean? these things dont 'just' happen...theres a reason.

I hope youre feeling better sweetpea.

Love Shann
