For the Birds and Charmed, I'm Sure...

I wanted to share the beautiful birdhouse
I ordered from my dear friend, Siobhan of Vintage Mosaic Boutique
I custom ordered it a couple of months ago...
and am finally sharing it now (I know, I'm way behind on it all)

Isn't it beautiful? It sits above my china cabinet...
Where there was not enough light to photograph it,
but I think it looks cute perched on my bistro chair too~

for all the little french birdies out there.
Look at the beautiful jewel and the top ...and...
it's made with Limoges china (ooh la la!)

I also purchased a couple of the loveliest charms
(Cathy Penton designed)
for myself and my daughter from Siobhan too~

The one that says "Pretty" on the back, I ordered for my daughter
(but I do "borrow" it once in a while;)

I just had to end this post with something cool...
Something I've been drinking a lot of~
Perrier with lime and lots & lots of ice,

It is SO HOT here!

So for everyone across the country, trying to cool off...
Please help yourself to a glass of cold, clear, bubbly water

and pass the water mister please!

How do you cope with the heat?

Happy Week~ I've got some blog hopping to do
before Friday!

Hi Tracie... I've never been very fond of mosaic-work, however, your new birdhouse is stunning! I was truly impressed and surprised when I enlarged it... a gorgeous piece of art-work! And... Ooooooooooo baby!! I just LOVED those charms you showed... beautiful!

Your ice water looks soooo refreshing! As for myself, to try to stay cool, I use alot of ice-packs. I keep my ceiling fan on and at night, I light my oil lamps instead of electric lamps. Somehow that makes my room seem a bit cooler. Besides ice water, I also drink kool-aid (grape, orange, lemon-lime are my favs), iced coffee, sweet tea and fruit smoothies. I also have a collection of hand-held fans and I always keep one on my night table, one in my purse, and one in the vehicle. Just in case!

Thanks, Tracie, for your sweet comments on the new baby... they are such tiny lil miracles! Please take care and stay as cool as you can... God bless...

~hugs~

Gosh Pearl,
Thanks for all your ideas~ I'm going to have to run out tomorrow and get some Kool-Aid, I don't think I've had any since I was 6, but suddenly cherry Kool-Aid sounds really good!

Hi Tracie, Your birdhouse is so cute and to think it is embellished in Limoges! I also LOVE that little glass from which you are sipping your Perrier! My friend loves all things fleur de lies, so now my eyes have been trained to spot that design. hmmm......to help retain my "coolness", I love to add fresh mint to my iced tea and keep the rooms darkened during the heat of the day with the ceiling fans running. If I'm still roasting, I head to the basement where I can always count on it being 10 degrees cooler and just camp out there--with my feline friends. No, I haven't seen Muriel's Wedding. This is a dumb question, but is it a play---movie---both?

Oh oui, oui Mon Amie! I believe that nothing in life is happening without a reason and I find it so amazing to find such a sweet understanding soul so far away.

I love your sweet birdhouse and your refreshment. Here we need that too, since the last 3 weeks are really hot. I use to love summer and hot days, but this is too much even for me. My only refreshment is few rainy days!

Well on TV they said rain on Saturday - nothing and today is Tuesday. Today is little windy so it is manageable but I am still waiting for the rain.

Wish you a cool day! Suzy

p.s. to keep cool I drink lots of sun tea...L

The birdhouse is very cute.

There weather outside is frightfully HOT. It's expected to be at least 98 degrees, Which means it may be hotter up where you are.

Stay cool with you drink, my drink of choice in Sweet Iced Tea.

Ciao

We've had a really mild summer so far and it's wonderful! I love the relief. Last Summer was terribly hot and while the kids lived in the pool, I had to sit and watch, sweltering =) Thankfully Neighbor Bob grew lots of mint last year - it was wonderful in my rasberry tea! Blessings... Polly

Hi Tracie :)

That birdhouse and those necklaces are adorable! Can I borrow the "pretty" one too? ;)

Oh and I showed you what I bought on that post silly woman ;)

Ya know I never learned how to surf (ex-husband issues LOL), but I do think I could have on that tiny thing :)

I know what you mean about the beach. I lived not 1/2 a block from it for 7 years and I never appreciated it like I should have.

I hope you get to again soon.

rue

LOL Tracie.... I know it was hard to see, being bright yellow and all! Just teasing you. I do stuff like that all the time. I think it's from having children. You know they steal part of your brain don't you?? ;)

Dear Tracie....I love Siobahn's work. How fortunate you are to own some of her pieces! It's hot as blazes here in Fl too...but then we are used to it. I don't think that you have the humidity though that makes one feel like a wet mop!! ~XOXO~ Janet
