Kind Words, Long Walks

I know a dear heart that makes me feel
~ at home ~

Welcome, come on in my heart tells me...

I've gone for a walk,
seen some beautiful Morning Glories
these beautiful flowers mean "Affection"
I thought they were just the lovelies to say
Thank you and that's how I feel about you, Pearl

Pearl has given me this award and one to
Rhonda at Scooterblu's Whimsy
we're both such fortunate women
to know YOU, Pearl!

She's one in a million, trillion
a gazillion!

Don't you just love it when someone makes your day?
A dear friend and it comes out of no where
and such a lovely surprise, just when you need it?

Now, here are a few pictures from my walk I've been
promising ~ perfect for the long weekend...
Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them~

First, we must go through the scary forest
(back lot of "my house")
Front of "my house"
Notice the fleur de lys corbels?
I have loved this old house for years
(7 to be exact)

The owners have not given it the TLC it deserves
and it's rotting away ~
I go by and say hello each morning though...

Hello House, someone's thinking of you!

The front yard of a Victorian down the street
a wonderfully tended garden and house,
one day I'll take photos of the rest of the gardens
and the grand house (nice people live there too!)

A thing of beauty - one block down from our
Petite Maison
the sun was streaming down and I couldn't resist
One of the churches I walk by each morning,
beautiful, isn't it?
Hope you enjoyed my little walk,
I still have many more to share, but will wait
for another time. Maybe next time the shops ;)

What are you doing this weekend
and who has made
your day like Pearl made mine?

Happy Labor Day Weekend~

Ohhh Tracie... I just love going on your walks! You always find the pretty things in life and your photos are excellent! I liked the shadows on the Church... and the "scary forest" made me chuckle... I have always been intrigued at how wooded places like that seem "OK" during daytime, but once darkness falls I don't want to be anywhere nearby! Such things bring to mind the scene from "To Kill A Mockingbird", when Scout goes through the woods at night in her "ham" costume...

Thank you for the Morning Glories photo... I have always had a fondness for those blossoms, but never knew they stood for "Affection"... One day I would like to add a book about the Language of Flowers to my lil home library... and Tracie, Thank You for posting your Loving Heart award and for all of your dear words to me... ~gentle hug~ ... I'm so glad that I could make you happy, just as you've done for me... I hope that other folks will be able to find such amazing friendship across the miles as we have been blessed to have... You truly have touched my heart with love 'n grace!

My weekend holds plans for a busy Friday... a trip with the guys over to the beach for a few medical appointments... then we are going to have lunch at an outdoor cafe off of the boardwalk if we can find parking... there are a few antique/thrift shops that we want to visit as well... after that we are heading north to an old orchard for some peaches and will end the day with my appointment to have my hair cut... Ohhhh my... I am tired already just from telling you about it! I'll let you know if we actually end up being able to do all that we desire... of course, Saturday and the new week will be spent with as much bedrest as possible to "recover" from a big day out!

I hope your weekend is filled with many sweet blessings... enjoy each one and those enchanting twilight moments that you hold so dear, too! God bless...

~hugs 'n love~

Than it a very nice neighborhood and it is a pure joy to walk around it. I enjoyed the photos.
What made my day? You did, with a nice comment of sharing the same "passion".

So what are you up this weekend? I wish you nice weather and smiles.

What a beautiful walk..thanks for taking me along. Morning glories are one of my favorite~I have a basket of them on my front porch that greet my neighbors when they walk by.

Have a wonderful weekend,

P.S. We let that crab go ~ we talked it over with our nephew, and we released Mr. Crab to grow bigger and stronger!

Thanks for taking us all along. I love looking at houses. I'm such a voyeur. Perhaps that's why I became a decorating editor/writer!

Oh Tracie, your little house is so scrumptious! Because my old farmhouse is a farmhouse, the outside doesn't have much detail. We have some amazing Victorians in our neighborhood but somehow God saw to put me in a farmhouse. He's always watching out for my pride like that. Bless Him for keeping my soul first!

But every now and again I look at that pale yellow lady with white gables and corbels and gingerbread and feel a little dreamy =) Blessings... Polly (p.s. I would love it if you would contribute! Feeling Christmas-y?)

Thanks for taking me on your walk, it is wonderful that your still walking, I am going on a year and 7months now! Everyday! I love it so much, and so do the doggies, I got them a double harness, it is a bit like a two dog sled team now! I will have to post a picture of them in it sometime they look really cute.
