Playing Tourist

Looking forward...
to
Halloween week

A week to play tourist with my husband

Walking the towns of Wine Country
Don't you just love this huge tree?
I would love to hear the stories of people
of days gone by it could tell us today.

Another beauty overlooking
a little front yard that reminds me of
Provence

See? Lavender, olive trees, roses
Beautiful!

One of the lovely churches in town
(Theodore the cat hangs out here)

A cute little bungalow

Going to try this place while we're out
Look at all those fleur de lys ;)

Beautiful houses in a row
The house on the end has been used for
Pottery Barn shoots many times
(They take everything out and move it back in...
Fun!)
And I walked by this window and fell in love

White birds flying everywhere...
free and singing without a care.

So... I will be playing tourist~
Trying some familiar places to eat
and some new ones too
and adding to my antique & vintage collections
(I hope! Wish me luck!)

Can't wait to show you the sights
in our little effort to leave our cares behind
for the week and savor in life's little moments.

What are you doing this weekend
and next week to celebrate Halloween?

Happiness to You!

Tracie dearest,
How are you? I haven't seen much of you...Your photos remind me of the marvelous town I discovered this summer here in Minneapolis. Victorian homes, antique shops and charm that enchants us dreamers. Have a fun tour and I look forward to your pictures! Anita

Tracie, what a lovely stroll you have taken us on. I love the beautiful little yard with the lavender and olive trees behind the wood fence. And those houses all in a row, looking a little like Mayberry.
Have a wonderful week away. As far as what I will be doing...I'll be getting ready for the sweet little goblins that come to my door.
Hugs,
June

Oh Tracie....I hope you have a wonderful time. What an adorable place. I couldn't believe how similar that little bungalow is to the little cottage I just posted about! So darn cute!

Bonjour dearest Tracie! Thank you for your sweet comment....I am glad that Mr. Zeke is well these days! God gave us His precious creatures to help us, I know it! When I was a little girl, I had no brothers or sisters to play with, but the neighbor's dog was always there at the fence, waiting for me! We would sit for what seemed like hours, comforting each other!!! God bless you dear! Anita

Love the bungalow....I always admire these charming old homes that have lovingly been restored or kept up. There is a section of homes in Riverside, CA called "the woods homes"...streets are named after trees...and filled with darling bungalows.

Have fun this weekend!

Oh Tracie that sounds fabulous! Sometimes it's great to just look around our hometowns with a new eye. Those pictures were great. I would love to live on the little street with the Pottery Barn house and I understand why you love those birds. They are so beautiful! What a great idea. Have a lovely time!
