Light for the Storm & News

I find myself longing to decorate outdoors, do you?
I l-o-v-e to decorate my French pine table
on the porch with all kinds of things...

Big bouquets of flowers and such

so I can see out of the house
and rest my eyes onto
a vignette I've set up to enjoy.

I even light candles out there to dream over
during this cold days.

We had a huge lightning & thunder storm
last night
I hear there are more
storms on their way.

The news reported winds
on the Golden Gate Bridge
at 75 mph!
And chances of an isolated tornado~

Yikes!

It was beautiful just a few moments ago

by the back of the house

But now the Sun
has gone to hide for a few days.

Better run out before it hits and fill up
the Eiffel Tower bird feeder once again.

So I'm off to hide a bit more myself .
I'm still
celebrating my birthday month...
just
waiting for that special day ;)

We're traveling Thursday ~ Sunday

Playing tourist in Wine Country
hope we don't get soaked...
if so, we'll make it an adventure!

Ooh... and the big news is
the winner of my petite giveaway...

The lovely
June at Laughing With Angels

So...
What do you do to cheer yourself,
and what kind of decorating do you
do outside on these overcast/rainy days?

Happiness to you!

Hello Tracie... I wish I could decorate outdoors today, but we had snow this morning, yuck! When Spring arrives I can't wait to put our little bistro set out and fufu up our deck... I do the same with our front porch, it is small but we love to sit out there in the evenings... each year I say I will have less pots of flowers and each year I plant more! Hope your weather clears up for you again... I can't wait to see more of your wine country tours... congratulations to June! What a lucky lady and so deserving... hope you are having a wonderful birthday week... and that your special day on Thursday is the best! Love to you... xoxo Julie Marie

My day here was a little soggy. I, too, like to decorate outside and do so when the weather is yummy.

Have a wonderful little trip.

Hi Tracie,
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!!! Thank you so much for such a lovely giveawy!
I have to say that I'm just a wee bit envious when it comes to Winter were you are my dear. How awesome would it be to enjoy that beautiful place all year. Your outdoor vignette is so lovely and I'm sure anyone who comes to your door feels so welcome.
We had some new snow today, but we are well below our normal snowfall for the year. I'm a little happy about it, but it may become a problem if it stays too dry.
Have a wonderful time on your getaway and enjoy the rest of your Birthday month!
hugs

Hallo Tracie. Thanks for the nice words about my "new" livingroom, and the french mirror I love them too :-)
I have just looked at your webshop, you are selling so many wonderfull frenchstyle items.
And the outside decoration, I love that, but we have it very cold and so much snow this winter. In Denmark it is the coldest winter in nearly 20 years!!
Have a lovely day!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm just sitting inside, watching it rain, rain, rain! We heard the Russian River is overflowing it's banks. My husband is a fisherman and keeps track of these things. Anyway, love your blog and also looking forward to spring and planting a garden. --Delores

Congrats to June, she's such a sweetheart!

I'm looking forward to my first home and all the decorating that will come with it, inside and out! We will be moving back down south in June, and I'm so excited! Hope you have a wonderful birthday! Mine is Feb.2nd, I'll be 33. WOW! Well, on rainy days I love to watch movies with my children in bed or curl up with a good book and then take a nap. We have a tin roof over our back patio and hearing the rain on it is so soothing! Blessings on your day!

How cute! Perfect for Valentines Day! I've visited Golden Gate Park and crossed that bridge several times--I cannot imagine winds that high being safe! I wonder if they closed the bridge down?

Weather here in Oregon is just sog. (sigh) Oh for snow! Oh for sunshine! Oh for a windstorm!

(grin) Have a wonderful weekend.
