On the Hunt

Yes, I'm on the hunt for one of these...

An old door for my little shack
I'm fixing up in the backyard.

My mind is filled with hardly anything
but finding an old door to call my own...

One with windows to gaze inside,
a little potting shed for the spring & summer...

A little dream for when the Sun shines again ;)

I so wish the Sun would come out
and I could search around a bit more.

What are you on the hunt for these days?

Happiness to You!

I am looking for some beachy things for my lakehouse. This summer is going to be all play and no work!

Have you been to Ray's in Sabastopol on 116 w. They have a lot of things and may have a door. Their in the yellow pages and have different hours so you may have to call ahead before making the trek out there.

Ciao

Oh Tracie, how fun! Your little garden shed will look so fabulous! I have seen so many of those old doors around here... when we had our little farmhouse I blogged about, I brought one home in my car, well, actually hanging out of the back of my car, from an old house they were getting ready to demolish... I didn't have a clue where we would put it, but I fell in love with it... needless to say, we sold our little farmhouse soon after that and I gave the door to a friend of mine for an old home he was restoring... wish I could send you one UPS!!! I am on the hunt for a little flower frog that is hiding in someone I know's little shed... tee hee hee! xoxo Julie Marie

I would love to find a door like that too. Lots of old doors around in this neck of the woods. Although I really shouldn't be looking for anything right now because with my new bifocals I can't see ANYTHING! lol

Tracie,
I have a thing for old chippy doors too. Try habitat Re-store. I have found so many fabulous old things there!
PS: thanks for posting the flea market round-up button! I have a cuter one now, if you want to switch. (thanks to C at The Stylish House)

I'm always on the lookout for extra time, so if you happen to run across any of that...send it my way. On my garden house, we found a set of old oversized windows that made the perfect french door opening. Just a suggestion.

I'm wanting a little shack in my backyard too. I've been collecting doors and windows for years now. Do you think this might be the year? I hope so.

Take care,

Kathleen

Hi,
I came over from Jennifer's site.
Love your blog!
I know what you mean, when I'm on the hunt for something, I don't rest til I find it.
Good luck with the door.

I'm on the hunt for a mannequin and for a vintage folding laundry basket. Both things seem to be costly on eBay, so I'm hoping I will just happen upon a great buy!

I wish you luck on this quest Tracie. I have a great old door, just not quite chippy enough for the bunk house we're building in the back. So I guess we are on a similar hunt.
I am sure enjoying my wonderful wins.

I'm on the hunt for time to clean out the shed so we can move it down the hill and make it into my garden house!
