Our sweet little Manx, Buttercup left My Petite Maison, yesterday... early morning. Haven't been able to walk outside the gate where she'd greet me each morning after my walk in town.
How do I do this? A post about a loving, small cat that adopted us 11 years ago and left us yesterday morning never complaining about anything.
I'm thankful for the 11 years of mornings and especially all the days she looked after Giles and tag teamed with Zeke not to let the "mean cats" in the neighborhood through our little gate. She never whined for food, she'd just come through the back and stare.

Her last days she spent sitting next to Zeke in the front room, just keeping warm.

I'm thankful she was able to pass away here at home and over the years learned what the good life was, never having to worry about food or if someone would be anything but kind to her.
We will remember the love you gave us unconditionally and pass it on.

I am soooooooo sorry for your loss, just this morning my daughter was getting sad about her cat who is eleven, she is twelve, and was saying how she had him her whole life, and how long will she get to keep him, I dread the day, the one you are having today!!!! take care!!!
what a sweetie... i bet you feel her little spirit pass by you sometimes, or feel her sitting by the gate, or maybe even she'll visit you in your dreams. she's a precious girl, i know you will miss her so much...

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet Buttercup ~ it is hard to lose a loved pet, especially having them with you for so many years ~ I lost my precious Fuzzums almost 2 years ago, and still miss him so very much ~ we only had him for just 2 short years ~ cherish the memories you have, as they will be a help and comfort for you.

I know what it is like to lose a faithful companion. It's as though a part of you is gone! I hope that you will take consolation is knowing that it was Buttercup's time to go and that she will never forget you and how good you were to her. Animals never forget... not even on the other side!

I'm sorry for your loss. We lost our first cat, Sappho, several years ago but she lives on in our hearts. We've lost others since then but some kitties leave deep pawprints on our hearts and it seems Buttercup was one of them. I hope she and Sappho keep each other company in a happy cat place.

Oh Tracie my heart goes out to you on the loss of your dear Buttercup! We had Izzy for 11 years and she was hit by a car last summer. Didn't want anymore animals after that , but hubby brought home a kitty he had found in the road. She wasn't here very long ( but long enough to steal our hearts) and disappeared and hasn't come back since. Praying for your heart to be comforted and she knew that she was very loved so that is a good thing!!

Their little lives are too short. They do love us unconditionally.

When you have a wonderful cat it is just so hard to lose her, I feel for you - but maybe down the road there will be another deserving little cat who needs a break, and you will welcome her with open arms. My Suscipe died in July at twenty-one, and two months later (after swearing I wouldn't have another) I found an opinionated, much-abused, ugly puss who with love, grooming and a LOT of food has become a quirky, loving and loved family member. Sitting here with tears in my eyes over your loss. It is one of the harshest facts of life. Putting my 14 year old puggy, Stella, down less that two months ago still stings like yesterday. I will never get over her....as you with your little Buttercup.
