I posted this photo on my Facebook page, but wanted to show it here too, as I get a lot of questions about my hanging pot rack that I purchased years ago on Ebay. It's been about 10 years since I got it and it's had a place in two of our homes so far...
I really love it and love hanging antique & vintage French-Nordic goods from it, as well as sentimental goods from special people in my life.
Wanted to take a moment to wish you a happy weekend and so happy to say Bechet is doing outstanding with his recovering from stomach surgery. The hardest part is not letting him play, keeping him on his leash and not letting him run like the wind!
Come next week though, all running will resume here and very long walks.
I am starting to bring in a few pumpkins (thanks to my husband) and decorate with a serene palette in the house. Outside though, I love to do a traditional bright, old fashioned Halloween type decor though for the kids in the neighborhood and ourselves to enjoy. I like the "looks haunted outside but serene inside" look, the element of surprise!
Have a great weekend!

An Easy Weekend with Bechet
Hello friends,
We will be taking the next several days at an easy pace, or try to, that is... peaceful, quiet and nesting.

Bechet is a large breed dog, so he's had gastropexy surgery to ensure he doesn't have bloat problems in the future with his stomach. We're also breathing a sigh of relief that he's now been micro-chipped too.
I thought I'd share a few vignettes in my kitchen since we'll most likely be in this weekend nesting here at My Petite Maison.

I love a home with plants and fleurs. It just makes a home/maison more alive & beautiful too.

Old pieces placed in vignettes. The escargot dish was a gift from my grandmother, you've probably seen me use it before now. I love it's deep, rustic color.
So, now... you know what I'll be up to in the next couple of weeks. Nesting and trying to keep our French pup peaceful.
I ordered Bechet a new toy and so far, it's working.
Chat with you in a couple weeks here at the blog... Oh, I moved my sideboard into the kitchen, so I can't wait to share that with you!

Happy September!
We had a great long Labor Day weekend and are just back to work today. I tried to spend a lot of time in the yard this weekend, but it was really hot. I love puttering around my zinc topped cabinet, I found it many years ago in a hole in the wall antique shop in Windsor, California. Our daughter and I painted it white and I think it's about time for another coat of paint, as it's been outside for about 2 years now.
Here are a couple photos of Bechet from the hot days of summer. It is so nice to have a dog here at My Petite Maison again and a little cat to keep us all company as well.
I love this photo! Isn't he cute?

I hope you're enjoying your days with a four-legged friend or two to enter into our upcoming, cozy autumn weather with long walks or just cozying up at home/maison.
